In memory of
My amazing and inspirational mum
2nd Mar 1957 - 20th Apr 2018
Just a brief reason as to why this is so important to myself and why I am now fully committed to fundraising as much money as possible. Sadly my mum was diagnosed with a very rare condition of lung cancer on 20th March 2018 just 18 days after we had celebrated her 61st birthday......she had been struggling with a bad back for a few mths which the doctors has shrugged of as old age!!! (She wasn’t old) and it finally took me taking her to gloucesters a&e dept for them to scan her back and chest to find out what was going on and never once did cancer ever cross our mind. We were then told on the 20th March that she had terminal lung cancer, 2 weeks later we were told that we had 18/24mths with her....little did we know that actually it turned into 4 weeks from initial diagnosis. My mum passed away at home with my dad by her side knowing just how much she was loved and I know that the last words my mum ever heard me say to her was how much I loved her. My mum if you ever met her was one of the most generous, beautiful and loving women you would ever meet and nothing was ever to much for her and always put family before anything and anybody else. My goal now is to raise as much money as possible in order for more research to be done into this most horrible disease that claims far to many lives and destroys families, unfortunately my mums not the only family member we have lost over these past 2 years and the amount of lives that have been changed is massive. Hopefully with everybody’s help we will be able to find a cure in our lifetime and less people will die from cancer and more families can stay together for as long as possible. Much love and hugs to all Georgina Xxx 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.
