Shine London 2019 - Full Marathon
Sat 21 Sep 2019 - Sat 21 Sep 2019
On the 21st September, we will be taking on the Shine Walk around London to raise money for Cancer Research. We wanted to do something big to mark the 10 year anniversary since Charlotte’s wonderful mum Sally passed away. Thanks to cancer research, my Dad received the treatment he needed for Bowel Cancer, but it's so important that we keep fundraising to prevent this horrible disease affecting so many people. After the recent sudden death of a close family friend who battled cancer for a long time this feels even more important. We're going to be walking a marathon, overnight, around London. Our pages are all linked as one team, but we're each supporting a different form of Cancer Research. By donating to my page your money will go towards Bowel Cancer, but it will also help our overall team total. If you can support in any way it would be massively appreciated to keep us going round the full 26 miles, and will make the blisters worth it! xxx Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
CAUSE
Bowel cancer
Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
