In memory of
Winnie Kite
I've never done anything like this before and I'm certainly not a runner. However I'm doing this because it's for such an important cause. As a student nurse I've looked after many people with cancer and I've seen the heartbreaking impact it has on the individual's and their families lives. I've been fortunate in my personal life that cancer hasn't affected my direct family very much. I thought of many people when I decided to run the Race for Life; Ruth, Auntie Vi, Barbara to name a few and I'm running for these people and everyone fighting cancer. I'm dedicating this run particularly to my Auntie Jan's mum, Winnie Kite, who sadly lost her fight almost a year to the day of the race. She was brave and strong throughout her fight and gave it her all. My auntie and her family remained positive despite it all, and I'm so proud of Winnie, Jan and the family for giving everything they had in their fight. I want to raise as much as possible so that no one has to go through cancer. Every penny and pound will get us closer to beating cancer. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
