In memory of
Grandad & best friends sister
Cancer was a very new experience for me 8 years ago, but now sadly is such a massive part of my life. My amazing Grandad, Harold Densham, sadly got diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2009 and spread due to late diagnosis. Grandad lived with cancer for many years, and I am so proud of how strong and cheerful he stayed for everyone, especially in the last 6 months of his life as he knew he would never recover. Even though he was bed bound for the last 3 months of his life, he still managed to put a smile on all of our faces and make us laugh with his jokes and life stories that he used to tell. He was one of a kind. He was such a huge part of my life and to all his loved ones. This was a very hard step for me to overcome and cope with, as he was such a big part of my life, and I truly know how much he loved me and I hope he knew how much I loved him too. Grandad sadly lost his battle to cancer in September 2012, after a long but powerful battle There isn't a day that I don't think about my loving Grandad. I am also so very proud of my amazing friend, who is being so strong and supportive for her little sister and her parents, who have had to unfortunately adjust to living with cancer in their lives again. I can't begin to imagine how difficult this must be for her, whilst also studying so hard and being so dedicated to her degree. I am so proud of her. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
