My Story
Hi there, On Sunday 17th May 2026, I'll be running the Hackney Half Marathon in memory of Heather O'Shaughnessy. Heather was one of the most radiant, fierce, fashionable, funny, ambitious, beautiful and resilient people I've known. We lost Heather in November 2025 - which was far too soon - to Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. It came as a shock to all those who loved her, but her star shines brightly and her legacy lives on. She leaves behind so many beautiful things: two daughters, grandchildren, glasses and too many more to mention. But all of us who loved her will carry her in our hearts forever. Heather should have had longer and was taken from us too soon. I'm running this half marathon for her in the hopes that any money I'm able to raise can be a small contributor to the research undertaken in order to treat and defeat this horrible disease. No amount is too small, and thank you for your support. This one's for you Auntie Heath! Love, George xx
