My Story
As most of you know My Dad was diagnosed with Myeloma and is now in remission but it was a very painful time in our family's lives. I am also for my Father in Law, Paul who last year was diagnosed with bowel and lung cancer and after surgery he kicked them both to the curb. My Uncle passed away a couple of years ago with lung cancer as well as our friend and Thomas God Father, Ben. My Sister in law Catherine beat Non Hoskins Lymphoma, my Uncle beat Kidney Cancer, Bobby saw off breast cancer and sadly Sam lost her life and my Great Grandmother who I sadly never met due to breast cancer. These are just a handful of people I know that have been affected by cancer first hand but all of us have also been affected emotionally so we must make a stand and fight our our heath and those around us. This will be my 5th Race for Life in as many years. I will not be running this year as my hips and Fibromyalgia are holding me back but I will jog and walk and not be beaten. Each step is for yours and my future. We should all look after ourselves and each other. Thanks for reading. God Bless. Gem Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
