My Story
My beautiful Auntie Nee Nee sadly lost her battle with this awful disease on 13th June aged just 56, 18 months after being diagnosed. She was the bravest most inspirational person I have ever had the pleasure of having in my life and miss her dearly. She fought and battled whilst enjoying the time she had left doing all the things she wanted to do with her family without complaint. My Grandad Bill has also previously been affected but fortunately fought it off and is in remission <3 Sadly we are not the only family affected..... I currently work as coordinator for Safehands Care LTD St Helens, whom provide domiciliary care in the community. This includes service users who require end of live/palliative care. Supporting them and their families during their difficult times is an honour and privilege. Their courage and determination to battle on is astounding. I feel it is our duty to help in whatever way we can to raise the much needed funds to help research this vile disease. Cancer is happening right now, raising money will help save lives. Pretty Muddy will be in 'Safehands' when my colleagues and I attempt the 5k course in September. I will be joined by - Kealey (St Helens), Laura (Warrington) and Caroline (Warrington). 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
