Gemma's Race for Life
Middlesbrough 5k 2019
Sun 9 Jun 2019 - Sun 9 Jun 2019
I'm taking part in Race for Life to raise money to beat cancer sooner.
In memory of
Barry Hunter
1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. My dad Barry hunter was one of those people. He was diagnosed in April 2017, and sadly he lost his fight on the morning of the 20th February 2019. Throughout those two years he made me the proudest daughter, continuing to give all he had and putting me and my family first despite everything he was going through. He kept the smile on his face and kept everyone around him laughing, and I’m sure he’d be laughing now making one of his dad jokes if I told him that I was going to complete a 5k race. This ones for you dad. The work that goes into the prevention and treatment of this unforgiving disease is remarkable, but it’s not enough. Any amount of money that I can raise to put towards this work, to stop another life being taken to early, and to stop another person or family from going through the heartbreak myself and my family have experienced and continue to experience, is worth it. No matter the amount, big or small, I’m beyond grateful for the donation you make. Thank you, Gemma x
