Gem and Lou’s Race for Life
London - Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Pretty Muddy 5k 2018
Sun 16 Sep 2018
So it’s ‘just’ 5k. But, I am someone who gets out of breath by the end of the driveway and I hate running. I am someone who’s had 2 babies in the last 2 years which has changed my body/life/everything in ways I didn’t know possible. In turn this means I want to collapse on the sofa at the end of everyday and drink a bottle of wine; not put my trainers on and ‘go for a run’. And my god I’m an ugly runner, to add to this I’m running alongside my beautiful swanlike best friend Louisa Taylor. But... I am someone who DOESN’T have cancer. I am someone who has watched my amazing Mum fight cancer and just celebrated her 70th birthday, 17 years after diagnosis. So it might be just 5k, but it’s not just 5k to me. In loving memory of Pat Taylor and Johnny Walker - who only would have ran to the pub 💕
