My Story
I'm incredibly excited to be part of The Miss Great Britain Team as a Ms Great Britain Finalist, raising awareness and funds for Cancer Research UK. In my early twenties I spent a year being successfully treated with Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy for Hodgkins Lymphoma. Shortly after my treatment I made the choice to have an elective bi-lateral Mastectomy to reduce my risk of developing Breast Cancer. I thought I'd had my fair share of Cancer and treatment, having navigated beyond the five years of being cancer free (remission). Unfortunately that wasn't to be and I was diagnosed with Cervical cancer in my thirties. This time because of awareness and regular testing it was caught early and I was able to have a hysterectomy and side step the Chemotherapy. It is incredibly vital, for us all, that Cancer Research UK, continue to raise funds to support research and raise awareness. The Miss Great Britain Organisation have raised over £100,000 for Cancer Research UK since 2015, not only this, they have spread vital awareness on different cancer types and been advocates for screening. Together we are funding life saving research and helping women and men across the UK be even more cancer aware. We thank you for your vital support in our mission to keep families together for longer.
