My Story
Thank you for visiting the Fundraising Page for Oakfield Army Saturday Slimmers. Cancer Research UK is expecting to see a £150 million drop in fundraising income between now and March 2021, due, in part to the number of sponsored events that have had to be cancelled this year and next because of Covid 19. On Sunday the 30th August, members of Sarah's Saturday Slimming World group will get together (in appropriately sized groups to whatever the Government guidance is at that time) to run or walk (or a bit of both) 5K (3 miles) or 10K (6 miles) for their own health and wellbeing, but also to try to raise a little bit of money for Cancer Research. For some of us this will be a huge personal challenge, for others it will be something that has been worked towards over the course of the Summer with a Couch 2 5K plan. For a lucky few it may not even be that hard - we'll be relying on those people to drag us across the finish line on the day! But for all of us it will be doing something healthy for ourselves whilst also helping a good cause that affects everyone. The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. If you have a friend, colleague or family member that is taking part, and you can afford a donation, however big or small, we would be really grateful and it will doubtless help with motivation now for the training and of course on the day! Thank you

All Cancer Types
Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour.
