Last year Cancer Research had a tough year due to the pandemic. Cancer has not gone away despite fewer cases being reported. Here at Roadchef we are fully committed to raise money this year to continue the fight against cancer. I have decided to cycle from London to Paris in September alongside 3 work colleagues, this will be a huge challenge. It is fair to say that we are not cyclists, three of us didn't even own a roadbike at the start of the year, so cycling the 435km from London to Paris will definitely be a challenge. Each of us have our own reasons for taking on this task, and that is certainly not so that we can wear a pair of lycra shorts and t-shirt. We have committed to give our all to make sure we are ready, putting in the hours come rain or shine between now and September this year when we will undertake probably the most physical challenge of our lives. Roadchef are delighted to have partnered with Cancer Research UK for a further 3 years. We will be taking on a number of fundraising challenges throughout the year (Covid depending) and we have bold ambitions for the next few years. Please help us to beat cancer. Cancer survival rates have doubled in the past forty years and now 2 in 4 people receiving a cancer diagnosis will survive. But that is not enough. Cancer Research UK’s ambition is to reach 3 in 4 people surviving cancer within the next twenty years. Roadchef’s support will help fund 4,000 scientists, doctors and nurses as they work across all 200 different types of cancer. With Roadchef’s help we can beat cancer sooner.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.
