My Story
I don’t normally run - unless you count my twice yearly walk/jog! I’ve decided to challenge myself this February, so I’m running 56 miles to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. That’s 2 miles a day, including on my birthday! My Dad had throat cancer, and the complications from radio and chemotherapy severely impacted his life and contributed to his passing in 2017. More research into this disease and how to treat it is needed. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. All of us can support the research that will beat it. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
