My Story
On 14th December my Mum passed away following a 3 year battle with bowel cancer. Whilst many of us complained about covid and lockdowns, and others had cheese and wine parties, she was undergoing three major operations followed by intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy. I am running the Manchester marathon in her memory, to raise vital funds for cancer research. Having also lost my Aunty Fran in 2021 to cancer, after her own lengthy battle which she took on with courage and bravery, it is only right that I try to raise funds by taking on this challenge and to do it on the streets of Manchester which we still call home will be fitting, if emotional. If just one family can be saved from the pain that mine has been through from cancer, then it will have been worthwhile. Seeing my Mum suffer the way she did will never leave me, and her strength and determination alongside her positive attitude will inspire me through every step of the training and marathon itself. Whether £5 or £500 every donation is going to life saving work and is much appreciated.
