Next Month I’ll be doing another challenge for Cancer research in memory of David Atley, I did 26 miles round London last year with the ridiculous idea that I would add weight to the bag for every £10 raised. You got me up to £200 and 20kg on my back and I swear I said never again…. However I used to talk with Dave about taking on things that scared you and pushing yourself past where you think your limits are so on April 7th I’ll be climbing Snowdon in the middle of the night and the twist is going to be exactly the same I’ll stick an extra kilo in the bag for every tenner raised. For those who don't know, Dave was the nicest, most kind-hearted, happy go lucky person I ever met. The Aussie with an infectious zest for life. I never met anyone quite like him and probably won’t ever again, He had such an incredible positive outlook on life and he touched the lives of pretty much everyone he met and could teach us all a lesson on how to be a better human. To convey Dave’s positive outlook and the content of his character It feels right to share some of his words. Cancer - 'Trying to test my mental, psychological, physical and spiritual strength.' ‘I feel an urge to stand tall and realize that I am here to show what happens when things go bad for humans. I can show people that it's not the end when cancer is here. I’m here to show people that we can reach out for love and that's ok. I feel like I’m here to show the world how to cope and march/push forward in the face of the adversity whilst smiling the whole way along..’ I don't do many Charity events but when I do its about honoring the #PunchOn mentality of Dave! So in the words of Bob Geldof … Give us your fucking money!!
