Francesca's Race for Life

A little over a year ago I saw the life of one of my best friends being shuttered to pieces. I saw pain, sorrow, desperation, grief, hopelessness, anger…I had a glimpse of the very face of cancer for the first time in my adult life. My friend lost her mum way too soon. My colleague lost her husband way too soon. My neighbor lost a son way too soon. A sister, a brother, a friend, yourself. The sad truth is that eventually, at some point, we may all lose someone or something to cancer. On July 29th, in memory of those who have left us and for those who fight this battle like true heroes every day, I am going to run 10K to raise money which will be devolved to Cancer Research. Poco piu’ di un anno fa , in meno di 6 mesi, ho visto la vita di una delle mie piu’ care amiche venir distrutta senza alcun preavviso. Ho visto il dolore, la pena, la disperazione, la rabbia ... Per la prima volta, ho intravisto il volto del cancro con gli occhi di un’adulta. La mia amica ha perso sua madre troppo presto. La mia collega ha perso il marito troppo presto. Il mio vicino di casa ha perso un figlio troppo presto. Una sorella, un fratello, un amico, te stesso. La triste verità è che ad un certo punto della nostra vita, potremmo tutti perdere qualcuno o qualcosa a causa del cancro. Il 29 luglio, in memoria di coloro che ci hanno lasciato e per coloro che combattono questa battaglia come veri eroi ogni giorno, partecipero’ ad una corsa di 10K per raccogliere fondi che saranno devoluti alla charity CANCER RESEARCH .
