My Story
We are walking because in one way or another we have all been affected by cancer. Either by supporting a patient with cancer or having a family member affected. Britta’s Story To celebrate my sister in law's victory in winning her fight - Sanne I am so grateful you did! I will be thinking of Paula while walking too and send her positive thoughts so she can win her fight. Alison’s Story As a GP I see so many people affected by cancer. Survival rates are improving and it is so important that we keep the momentum going. Cancer is a local priority and if we can raise awareness around issues such as cancer screening then we can improve outcomes in the future. Hilary’s Story I am walking to support those currently receiving treatment for cancer, for those who may need to one day access treatment and also to help fund ongoing research into the prevention and treatment of cancers. Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
