My Story

GG was my great grandad, but to me, he was so much more like my grandad. His name was Arthur. He was healthy, full of life, and honestly the funniest man alive. Seeing him was always something special, something I never took for granted. When I was 13, everything changed. Out of nowhere, GG was on the bus and suddenly couldn’t read the money in his hand or understand what he was looking at. At first, doctors thought he was having a stroke. But it wasn’t. It was an aggressive brain tumour. They gave him steroids, and for a little while, things seemed to improve. We held onto that hope. But just a few months after his diagnosis, we lost Arthur. Brain tumours don’t always come with warning signs. They can take someone so quickly, so unfairly and that’s why this means so much to me. I’m fundraising in memory of GG 💙 For Arthur, the man who made me laugh, who meant so much to me, and who should have had so much more time. Every donation, no matter how small, helps fund vital research and brings us one step closer to better treatments and hopefully one day, a cure. Thank you for supporting me, and for helping keep Arthur (GG)’s memory and legacy alive 🤍

CAUSE

Brain cancers

Each year in the UK, more than 12,288 people are diagnosed with tumours that start in the brain or elsewhere in the central nervous system. That’s 35 people every single day. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat brain cancer.
