Fire Walk!
Doing the Fire Walk for Cancer research! Check out my story and donate if you can spare anything please. I was 21 in my first year of university when I got my skin cancer diagnosis. I never excepted how complicated the surgeries turned out to be but I never let it interfere with the life I was building before the diagnosis. Teachers told me for two years of my degree I wouldn't pass. I was told I was "pig ignorant" for refusing to accept my circumstances (and drop out)... Even year three with no surgeries, I suffered major anxiety going out with my scars and it was suggested again I leave. Staying enrolled has been a constant fight for me with my university as they provided more obstacles than support for me but I kept proving them wrong. There's so much publicity on cancer disrupting someone's life, I wanted to prove this wrong and provide some hope. Now year four, I am doing my placement at amazing practices and slowly gaining my confidence back everyday. My situation challenges this automatic negative assumption. Its given me the knowledge of the disease and the charities associated with cancer which I wouldn't of had otherwise. I will always be donating/ fundraising to contribute to more research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer and I hope my story can persuade you to join me with my efforts to do this :)
