Fiona's Race for Life
Southampton 5k 2018
Sun 1 Jul 2018
We all know someone who has or has had cancer. I myself have friends who are beating cancer right now which is amazing! Sadly there isn't always a happy ending and I also know people who sadly lost the fight. I myself was one of the lucky ones. After finding a lump about 5 years ago my heart was in my mouth when I had a doctors appointment the same day as finding it and a hospital appointment just 2 days later! Test after test and 2 MRI Scans later, I was told it was benign. The relief was immense!! It certainly makes you realise how precious life is and to go out there and live it! Thid is why I'm running race for life, for everyone fighting cancer right now and for all friends and family who have lost loved ones. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
