As everyone who knows me is aware, i’m no gym bunny and exercise and I have not been close friends for many a long year, but I’ve decided it’s time I got off my bum and did something constructive. In common with most of my friends and family I have known too many people who have battled cancer, some have won the fight, sadly others have not, so I have chosen the shine walk in aid of cancer research as an incentive. The walk is 26 miles and I’ll be setting off with a group of like-minded women at 10pm at night, hoping to finish by 8am the next morning, yuk! I decided if i was going to ask for sponsorship it should be for something gruelling so that anyone donating feels like I am making an effort worthy of giving up some hard-earned cash. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives.
