My Story
Hey, it’s Fee. I'm going to be running two races for my lovely mum, Sian, raising money for Breast Cancer Research. I have ran a 10k Race for Life at Finsbury Park in July and I will be running a half marathon 15th September. For those of you that know my mum, she is one of the most caring, funny and generous people you could meet. She has always been bouncy and full of beans. In 2005 Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer when I wasn't even old enough to know what cancer was. Her brave and feisty attitude wasn't going to let this illness take over her life. A year later she got the all clear. In 2014 Mum found out that she had breast cancer again, when I was in my last year of university. Mum stayed strong and fought with every inch of her body; she was not going to let this cancer beat her and she constantly had a smile on her face. Later that year she got the all clear AGAIN. In January this year Mum was told that she has breast cancer stage 4 (advanced cancer). The breast cancer had spread to her liver, bones and cells within her body. Stage 4 cancer can be treated, but cannot be cured. 1 in 20 people survive for over 2 years with this type of cancer, and without treatment the prognosis is between 4-8 months.. Thank you for taking the time to read this. One day we will beat cancer, and with your donation we will get there sooner. Mum sadly passed away July 24th 2019, she passed away peacefully and in no pain. We love you Mum, we think about you every single day, forever in our hearts. I’ve completed both races finishing the half marathon in just under 2 hours which I’m over the moon about thank you to everyone for your support and your extremely generous donations!
