My Story
We are taking part in the Pretty Muddy 5K to raise money for Cancer Research UK in honour of Les, Cari’s dad. Les is the strongest, kindest and funniest man we know, and the very best Dad, Husband, friend & Pod (grandad) to his grandchildren. He was first diagnosed with oesophageal cancer 8 years ago. After major surgery, he was thankfully able to live a further 6 years fairly well, making precious memories with his family. Sadly, the cancer returned with a vengeance. Last September, Les was given just 6 months to live. Since then, he has continued to face every day with courage, humour and love, making the most of every precious moment with those around him. This is an incredibly difficult time for all the family, and we are running to raise awareness and support vital research, so that one day fewer families have to experience the heartbreak that cancer brings. Any donation, big or small, truly means the world to us. Thank you so much for your support.

All Cancer Types
Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
