My Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. I was diagnosed with a rare cancer just before Xmas 2021. Since then, so many things have changed but many of those changes are actually very positive !! I’ve always been fascinated by the skies above us and qualified as a pilot from White Waltham many years ago. Obviously I can’t fly anymore so instead, I took up deep sky astrophotography ! Taking deep space pictures is as much a physical challenge as it is technical - so many elements need to come together to take just one picture - and I need to take hundreds over several hours to get the final image. My personal financial contribution to this project is significant and companies like www.firstlightoptics.com have been helpful in advising on the right equipment for the task. To be clear, I have no affiliation nor interest in firstlightoptics - they are just giving me equipment advice. My fundraising objective is to capture the 3 images that (to me anyway) signify faith, hope and charity. Each final image will take several hours of processing and they will be available to download for a donation. I’ll also see if I can print and frame them for larger donations, along with the story of how I did it all. I’ll also record everything and put it on YouTube so you can see what I did for this important fundraising initiative. If I can get to £1000 I’d be really pleased and anything above that would be truly incredible !
