My Story

Topping up my last 5k Race for Life This year I will be running the 10k Race for Life in Lincoln, In memory of my wonderful Grandma Aurea, who had fought cancer twice, and she was always a force of nature, I have seen in first person the meaning of the word warrior. Unfortunately and with great sadness, she is no longer with us to support me in person, but surely I will feel her energy while running this one. Also, I want to run this 10K to honour my mother-in-law, Mafalda, currently winning the battle with a smile on her face. She has been the bravest and most positive person I know, until we both cracked in tears😂😂, but even during this fight, she has been all the way there for our family, and nothing can stop this woman, which just a couple of hours after a major operations she was dancing (lightly of course) in the middle of her living room. 😂🥰 I’m running for them—and for all our friends and family who’ve faced this fight, just want to give a big shout out to my mate Darren Jones, who also overcame his fight with great spirits and never stopped cracking a joke. 🙂🙂 Nowadays, unfortunately, we hear more often that someone close is facing this battle against cancer. So all we can do is be there for them and support them all the way. I’m hitting the pavement for the Lincoln 10k 2026, trying to top up my 2024 race of 5K. I'm sure that my legs might disagree halfway through the race😅, but I will power through and finish with a smile on my face. 🙂 Cancer is tough, but my family and friends are tougher. I’m hoping my pace is faster than a turtle's, but even if it’s not, every penny you donate goes toward life-saving research. All you have to do is click 'Donate'!
