My Story
Race for Life is our flagship event series which started back in 1994 down in Battersea. Over the years that have followed thousands of women (and now men) have taken part running, skipping, jogging or walking to celebrate and remember loved ones who have had a cancer journey whilst raising vital funds for our research. As you will be aware, we haven’t been able to host a single Race for Life this year and the team in Volunteer Fundraising are coming together to take part and support colleagues in the events team by taking part in a ‘Very Race for Life 2020’ and trying to raise a bit of money along the way too…. Thanks so much for supporting us help continue the fight against cancer and give more people more tomorrows….

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
