Ewa's Race for Life

In February 2018 I have lost my dearest Dad to Cancer. This has broken my heart and changed my life forever.. A year and a half before that, we have also lost my dad's brother, my uncle, to a hidden type of a cancer, which couldnt be detected untill it was too late. Last month, my dear grandfather, who was suffering from prostate cancer for years, also passed away.. In 2013 my lovely auntie Jola, also have lost her battle.. My late mother-in-law, who passed away 6 months after my Dad, battled breast cancer in her life. My mum, in her 30ties, successfully won with cervical cancer. It is too much!! I keep on hearing about people suffering from cancer and passing away… very often given few months time to live… After loosig my Dad, It took me nearly a year to pull myself together. Only a bit thought as there is no single day I wouldn’t think about him; After going through the trauma of loosing a parent I found myself running and discovered that it helps to calm myself down, to relieve the stress, the tension, the anxiety, the pain.. so here I am today, signing up for Race for Life, with hopes to rise some money needed to discover ways so that we can finally show cancer the middle finger! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
