My Story
In February last year I was diagnosed with stage 2 (and grade 2) breast cancer. Following major surgery, months of chemotherapy of radiotherapy, I am now starting to return to normal. My toes are still numb, my nails are still crumbling but my hair is returning! :-) After last year's Race for Life, my daughters came to see me in my hospital bed in their pink running gear. This year I want to take part too, although I don't think I'll be at 'race' speed! Now that I'm on the mend, I want to do my bit. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
