Nila Gutierrez "Abu"
My children and I are participating in the Race for life for the third consecutive year. We are doing it in loving memory of “Abu”, their grandmother. A strong and inspiring lady who gave Cancer a fierce battle, but eventually lost it. She was a great influence for everybody who knew her, unfortunately my children didn't have her around long enough. Cancer research UK is pioneering the research to beat cancer. We are raising some money for them as our personal collaboration to this initiative. Because every child should have the opportunity to meet his/her grandparents, just as every grandparent should be able to enjoy this unique experience and pass the family legacy to their grandchildren. Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
