Thank you for visiting my Fundraising Page. The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. JOHN O’GROATS TO LAND'S END FOR CANCER RESEARCH UK – IS ELECTRIC ALL THE WAY THIS ENDEAVOUR IS TOTALLY SELF-FUNDED AND WE ARE ONLY SEEKING DONATIONS NOT SPONSORSHIP MONIES. We are going to drive from John O’Groats to Land’s End in a hired, environmentally friendly ALL ELECTRIC BMW i3 120Ah car. The trip, starting June 10th, 2021 (restrictions allowing) will take roughly 12 days, it’s a marathon not a race and WE CAN ONLY TRAVEL 150 MILES A DAY due to restrictions on the car. We decided to attempt the challenge because Eric’s Mum Elsie, who is now 94, along with a group of friends, since 1981, have managed to raise £350,000 for Cancer Research. Through coffee mornings, dances, fashion shows, hanging dedicated baubles on Christmas trees, shaking tins in and around Durham and in all weathers. This year they have been unable to raise any funds and like so many other charities, Cancer Research has suffered. We do not think there will be many people who are reading this who have not experienced a friend or family member suffer from some form of cancer, so Eric came up with this novel all-electric challenge. Our target is £873, which happens to be the distance between John O’Groats and Land’s End! This is for life-saving research to help men, women and children survive the disease.
