For Anthea

Last year was the worst I could have ever imagined. I lost my daughter and then my best friend died four months after. The death of Anthea is one that should never have happened. If only the doctors listened. Anthea bravely fought cervical cancer in 2014. She was scared of the treatment that she had to undergo but she did it because she wanted to live. She had her little boy Jake to look after and lots of plans for her life. She won that battle. But sadly, at the end 2015, after she had visited the doctors about chest and back pains so many times, she found out that she felt that way due to secondary tumours. They hadn't scanned her body high enough to see that the cancer had spread. It had spread quickly and fiercely. She faced treatment head on but in July 2016, she contracted pneumonia. I can still hear her now from the hospital bed; 'I've only gone and bloody got pneumonia.' Four days later, she was gone. Her body was too weak from all the treatment to fight the pneumonia. She was too young to die of cancer. I miss her incredibly and I'm doing this for her. Cancer ruins lives. It's time we ruined cancer. Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
