Race for Life at Home

My Story

This last year cancer has effected the lives of my family and friends. I have had two people close to me had their life’s turned upside down by the horrible effects of cancer. My best friend Ashleigh and My Auntie Maggie. 💕 Not long after giving birth, my best friend Ashleigh started to develop signs of cancer associated with Hodgkin Lymphoma. Initially this was passed off as hormones from giving birth however, Ashleigh knew something was not right with her body and she was completely correct. Late last year she was giving the devastating news that she had stage 4 cancer. Since then Ashleigh has fought relentlessly to beat this and come June her journey to beat this horrendous disease will hopefully be all over. Amazingly, Ashleigh has done all this while also becoming a first time mum to her little girl Grace. We are all so proud of how amazing Ashleigh has been through out this whole process. She has never let her cancer get the better of her and her optimism has been an inspiration throughout the whole of her journey. Keep fighting Ash! 💕 Last year, sadly I also lost my Auntie Maggie who had fought hard to beat lung cancer for a number of years. Again, my Auntie Maggie was an another amazing woman who fought hard and relentlessly throughout her cancer journey. Even when having her cancer, she still made sure to enjoy every second of life to the full whether spending time with her loved ones, going on holiday or eating good food. We all miss you so much and know that you fought your absolute best until the very end. 💕
