My Story
In 1998 at university I met Angela, who became my best friend for the next 15 years. She was funny, so so much fun, unpredictable, hard working, determined, brave, naughty, kind, loyal, thoughtful, loving, and the best friend you could ever wish for. We shared some incredible holidays, and had adventures at home. Somehow our quiet country walks always ended in something ridiculous like being chased by curious young bullocks, or getting lost in a midsummer blizzard. I miss sitting in the garden with a cup of tea and planning what we were going to do next! The last few years she was so happy - she had met a man who made her the happiest I ever knew her, and they had a beautiful daughter who she loved so much, and treasured beyond measure. 4 years ago, after being in remission from breast cancer she was admitted to hospital with suspected meningitis, but tests showed the cancer was back, and within 2 weeks the Cancer won, and we lost an amazing person. They were meant to get married a couple of months later. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
