Emma and Maya - Race for Life
Peterborough 5k 2018
Sun 24 Jun 2018
Maya and I are taking part in Race for Life to raise money to beat cancer sooner and in memory of Barry Gregory.
In memory of
Barry Gregory
Those of you who know me well will know I'm not a runner and so running 5K is a big challenge for me although I have to admit that the training has been more enjoyable than I anticipated (really) and I feel confident that I will manage to run the whole 5K race. Maya (my 12 year old daughter) and I have trained together. She has done some running before and is certainly faster than I am. It remains to be seen whether she will take pity on me and run at my pace on the day. We are particularly running in memory of Barry Gregory, Maya's Grandad, who died in February this year after a long and brave fight with prostate cancer but as we run we will be thinking of all our friends and family members who have been affected by cancer. Please sponsor us if you can - anything you can give is going to a good cause. Thank you. Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
