Emma's Race for Life
Derby 5k 2019
Sun 30 Jun 2019 - Sun 30 Jun 2019
In memory of
Ben Hallam
I have many reasons for running the race for life this year. I have run it on a number of occasions before but haven't for a few years because I have focused on running longer more challenging runs. However this year my mum wanted to run it after a recent diagnoses my aunty has had and she is now on the tough journey of chemo etc. For my mum this will be a big challenge as she hasn't ran for a long time so I wanted to support her in this and encourage her to get fit. Along with that I lost a good friend a year ago to lung cancer at just 40. Within 6 weeks of a diagnosis he was unfortunately gone. This may not be a physical challenge for me this year but it's important to keep the focus on cancer and how far treatment has come but also how far it still has to go. I am going to chuck some money in but if anyone could spare a few quid it would be appreciated.
