My Story
Cancer has affected us all at some point in our lives. Cancer research is an important charity to me as I have had many members of my family have cancer, including my Nan and sister. On 9th September 2025 my sister needed to have surgery on her throat for thyroid cancer. Luckily this was successful and she is now cancer free. In November 2021 my nan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which was incurable and had a life expectancy of 6 months. Nan started treatment with chemotherapy straight away and was successful. On 30th September 2025 nan lost her battle. Thanks to the amazing research and dedication of the doctors, nurses and scientists we were able to have an extra 4 years. I will be forever grateful and running 10k is just a small token of showing my appreciation.
