My Story
At the start of the year, I lost my close friend - Hannah. Having known her since we were just 16, she was a ray of sunshine in my life and many others' lives too. She fought a brave battle with cancer, she was strong, determined and an inspiration to all. I think of her everyday - I'm so grateful that she was part of my life but continue to ask why this horrible disease has to take so many loved ones each day, each week, each year. Since January, to help me come to terms with Hannah's death, I began to run. I found it helped me to grieve and to find some head space. I am by no means a runner but perhaps a person who runs. I've clocked up 145km (that's 90 miles!) and run in the wind, rain, hail, snow and some sunshine! When I've felt like quitting on these Yorkshire hills, I know that Hannah has helped me get to the top. Now I'd like to help by running this year's Huddersfield Race For Life. I do hope you can support me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Emma
