My Story
9 years ago I lost an inspirational role model, who I call my nan. It’s not until something serious happens do you realise how much strength an individual has! Due to how young I was and realism of the situation it didn’t effect me that much - unfortunately, to this day I regret not making the most of my time with her and not being able to say good bye. The memories I have of my nan will always remain, but no matter what she went through she always maintained a smile and tried her hardest to fight for as long as she could! 4 years ago another role model in my life who also I call my nan, received those words that everyone dreads to here ‘you have cancer’. Fortunately, the cancer my nan had didn’t spread and therefore professionals were able to remove the organs that had this life changing disease. However, there are many individuals out there who simply have to live with it due to the fact it is uncureable. My message to everyone is make the most of the time you have with those around you, because those three words can be received at any time without any signs or symptoms. I’m doing this for both of my nans, I know that I’d be doing both of them proud. Not only am I doing it for them, I’m doing it for those all around the world who are continuing to fight and believe in their strength in dealing with cancer. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research.
