My Story
Last year I lost my nan to cancer. She first got cancer in 2017 and fortunately managed to beat it, until it returned in January 2018. We were told she could live for years, she lasted just 3 months. This year I’ve also lost another family member to cancer, who was possibly the nicest man you could ever meet and I hate that we didn't have longer with them both. It’s a cruel disease and to watch him deteriorate was one of the hardest things. Since losing them I've wanted to do something to raise money for Cancer Research. If the money I raise can help even one family have longer with their loved one then it's worth all the effort it's going to take! I've decided to sign up for the Shine Walk - which is walking a full marathon, overnight through the streets of London, in September 2019. I'm doing it with a lovely bunch of ladies that I work with and we're hoping to raise a significant amount of money to help people with cancer. I would appreciate any amount you can spare, no matter how small - it all makes a difference, please donate! Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
