My Story
I don’t often discuss how much Cancer has affected my family’s life on both sides. However as I turn 30 I wanted to do something big to raise money to fight this terrible disease, and that involves explaining some background… Apart from my legs, nose and eyes; my hair has always been the link I have had to my beautiful mother. It’s what everyone always connected us with, big, thick, curly and (ironically not naturally for either of us) blonde, mop. Luckily when it comes to cancer genetics similarities end there and I am the first female in 3 generations to not carry the BRCA2 Gene on my mother’s side. However my mum, my powerhouse of a Nana, salt of the earth Cornish Granny, Auntie, Great Auntie, and countless others have not been so lucky in their fight against cancer. So for them and so many others across the world I want to do something to honour what they went through. I want to raise some money to fund the amazing research Cancer Research do; by cutting off my hair and also donating it to the Princess Trust- so someone somewhere has a small show of support in what is a gruelling journey. Let’s kick cancer’s ass together ❤️
