My Mum
My Story
1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s ground breaking work. Donate to my Giving Page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. As many of you know, my lovely Mum was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer last summer at the age of 54. However, a new targeted treatment has enabled her to return to some sort of normality and enjoy her life. Hannah, Granny and I will be taking to the streets of Manchester in the 10k Shine a Night walk to help raise awareness. Any donation towards cancer research and to help others have the care my Mum has had, however small, would be great fully received.
CAUSE
Lung cancer
Each year more than 43,500 people are diagnosed with lung cancer in the UK. We urgently need to drive progress so that more people survive their disease. Cancer Research UK is at the forefront in lung cancer research and is funding various projects to tackle the disease head on. This includes the TRACERx study, Cancer Research UK’s largest investment into lung cancer to date. This study has already transformed our understanding of how lung cancer evolves and is continuing to shed light on how to prevent, detect and treat the disease.
