Shine Night Walk Liverpool 10k 2021
Fri 10 Sep 2021 - Fri 10 Sep 2021
As many of you know on May 13th 2021 I was given the devastating news that I had breast cancer. It was a total shock as I felt so healthy and well. I’m currently undergoing 6 months of chemotherapy and immunotherapy and then will have surgery followed by more treatment and immunotherapy. The type of cancer I have is Her2+ and the anti-biological drugs they now use to treat this type of aggressive cancer are apparently game changers. These drugs and treatments are only available due to all the research which is constantly being done into treating cancer. So to try and give back I will be doing the Shine 10k night walk in Liverpool on 10th September to raise funds for cancer research UK. Any sponsorship you can offer will be so appreciated. With love Emma. P..S. Remember to keep feeling your boobs peeps- any changes/lumps/bumps get checked out- it could save your life!!!
CAUSE
Breast cancer
With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
