My Story
My world changed forever, when on 28th November 2017 I became one of the 140 women a day diagnosed with breast cancer (late stage) at the age of 41. Since then, I have received chemotherapy, antibodies, undergone surgery and completed a course of radiotherapy. I will be eternally grateful for the drugs I continue to receive which are currently keeping the disease under control and for the talented scientists who researched and developed them. Whilst we may not yet have a cure, research is ongoing in the hope that one day we will have. Great progress has been made: overall, cancer survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. No one wants to see their daughter, mother, aunt, wife, grandmother suffer from this disease. A cure is the goal. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives.
