My Story
As many of you know, in 2017 I was diagnosed with - and beat - breast cancer. At the time of my diagnosis I was training for the Singapore marathon, to raise money for Cancer Research in memory of my Nan. The doctors said I couldn't run the marathon in the middle of my cancer treatment - the irony wasn't lost on me - and so I vowed to sign up for another marathon as soon as I was able. Then, before I knew it, I'd signed up for two marathons, two weeks apart! I'll be running the Paris Marathon on 14th April, followed by London on the 28th, for two very important reasons... Firstly, and most importantly, I want to raise awareness of cancer, and in particular breast cancer. It can happen to anyone, at any time but if you catch it early your chances of a full recovery are so much higher, so know what to look out for! I was 29 when I was diagnosed - young, healthy and carefree, so please please don't be complacent - check out the main warning signs to watch out for here: https://coppafeel/your-boobs Secondly, I don't know anyone who hasn't been affected by cancer - people I love have lost mums, dads, sisters and children: heartbreaking. The clever scientists at Cancer Research are fairly confident we can cure all cancers in our lifetime, so I want to raise as much money as possible to help them in their vital work - any donation you are able to make would be really appreciated! Thanks a million x
