Shine London 2019 - Half Marathon
Sat 21 Sep 2019 - Sat 21 Sep 2019
I'm walking at the CRUK 'Shine Night Walk' in the fight to beat cancer. I am fundraising to support early cancer detection and diagnosis, in support of my Auntie and Grandma
1 in every 2 people are affected by cancer. This statistic has become very real to me this year, with two very close family members recently diagnosed with cancer and one of my closest friends losing her father after he fought a long battle with cancer. I am walking around London with 3 friends throughout the evening of Saturday 21st September, hoping to make the city shine and celebrate the strength, resilience, and determination of those with cancer, and the families and friends of those that have lost loved ones. My fundraising target is £400, this is to cover the cost of a one day clinical trial to investigate the efficacy of a cancer treatment drug. This research is absolutely crucial due to the complexity of cancer, regarding the multiple types, stages, aetiologies and prognoses. I have chosen for any donations to contribute to the earlier detection of cancer. I hope that this helps reduce the number of lives taken by this cruel, aggressive and rapid disease. Together we must beat cancer as it is causing so much pain and suffering to so many wonderful people. I look forward to sharing what I hope will be a wonderful evening with you all. Thank you.
