My Story
I am running in memory of my Grandad who died of prostate cancer on 31.08.2010 and my Gran who died of ...... on 25.10.2002 as well as my Dad who is 4 years cancer free. My Gran died when I was only 6 and I have limited memories with her but for me, it was the hardest time of my life when my Grandad was taken from us because of prostate cancer. He made the proudest granddaughter and now it’s time for me to make him proud, by doing Race for Life for the fourth time in memory of him. In December 2013 we got the devestating news that Dad had prostate cancer. Once again, my world came tumbling down but he’s fought it and is now 4 years cancer free. I want them to be find more medicines, more ways of curing cancer so people can be as lucky as Dad. I have done Race For Life 3 times previously - one time walking and twice running. The two times I ran were incredibly challenging for me, I had to do intense training to work my way up to it and both times ended up in an ambulance at the finish line! This year, my aim is to get a personal best. I have lost over 4 stone and got to target with Slimming World and I am now more fit in myself. I am so proud of what I’ve achieved and I hope people will sponsor me and help what is such a close charity to my heart. If you’ve read to the end, then thank you. ❤️
