My Story
We will be holding a charity football match to raise vital funds for Cancer Research. Details as follows: Jarvis Brook FC vs Simla FC Date - Saturday 10 May 2025 Time - 1:30pm KO Location - Jarvis Brook Football Club, TN6 3HG This charity match will be a day for families to come together. There will be a bbq, bar, bouncy castle and a children’s football pitch. WHY CANCER RESEARCH? Emily was diagnosed in April 2024 with stage 4 breast cancer at the young age of 34. She has two young children aged 2 & 5. Emily has Triple Negative Breast cancer which has unfortunately spread to her liver and bones. Over the summer of 2024, Emily completed 6 round of chemotherapy and still has a tough road ahead. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is an aggressive type of invasive breast cancer. TNBC differs from other types of invasive breast cancer in that it tends to grow and spread faster, has fewer treatment options, and tends to have a worse prognosis (outlook). Every penny raised at this charity match will go towards supporting life-saving research. To give you a few examples: - £500 could fund a lab technician for a week, bringing us closer to the next cancer research breakthrough - £200 could fund our team of cancer nurses for an hour, offering confidential support and guidance - £150 could pay for a day of the clinical trial of the iKnife for breast cancer removal surgery Thank you for taking a look at this page. We look forward to seeing you on 10 May 2025.
