In memory of
Chris Griffiths
Everyone knows someone affected by cancer, or has been affected by it themselves. This year, we lost Chris- son, husband, father, Grandfather and my father-in-law to be. What started as skin cancer became a secondary brain tumour and, despite his incredible fight and the amazing work of the NHS, he passed away on the 30th April 2019 from complications caused by his treatment. On October 19th, the eve of what would have been Chris’ 60th Birthday, the ‘Marmaduke Moonwalkers’ are taking part in the Shine Night Walk in Cardiff. Our aim is to raise as much money as possible to help CRUK continue their incredible work. It gave us all extra time with Chris- something we are eternally grateful for. Since Chris passed away in April, we also know first hand 3 more people who have been taken by this horrible disease. We hope that CRUK’s continued work will mean that no one is taken from us too soon. Anything you can spare will be so gratefully received and will go directly and entirely to CRUK’s work. If you are a UK tax payer, please tick the ‘Gift Aid’ box so that the government add 25% extra to your amount. Thank you so much. Wherever you are on Saturday 19th/Sunday 20th, please raise a glass to those we’ve lost far too soon and miss every day. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.

CAUSE
Brain cancer
Each year in the UK, more than 9,400 people are diagnosed with tumours that start in the brain or elsewhere in the central nervous system. With more than 100 different types of brain tumour, donations can help Cancer Research UK find out what causes them and develop better treatments to improve the outlook for patients.
