2019 Royal Parks Half Marathon
Sun 13 Oct 2019 - Sun 13 Oct 2019
Anyone who knows me will know I am not a runner but they will also know that like many others my life has been affected by the dreaded 'C' word. In 2015 my amazing mum was diagnosed with stage two reoccurring breast cancer. At the age of 17 I had to watch the person closest to me face months of chemotherapy and life changing surgery. With her strength and the help of many Doctors and nurses my mum came through the other side happier and healthier than ever. We thought our fight with cancer was over. However, on Good Friday 2018, my wonderful nan was taken into emergency brain surgery to remove a growing tumour. Despite my nan never being the same we have been given a chance to more time with her. This is thanks to Cancer Research. I am running for Cancer Research UK in the hope that one day no one has to write stories like this about the ones they love. Please donate and help beat cancer together. Thank you, Emily x
