My Story
I did a 10k Race For Life about 7 years ago and I vowed never again because it was hard work!! But something prompted me this year to have another go but this time to get a running buddy to join me! My bestest ever friend Lauren said she'd be up for it and I'm so glad! Lauren and I were in the same class at school since we were 10, all the way til we were 18. We were each other's bridesmaids and we are Godmothers to each others children. Lauren's Mum, Linda, passed away from cancer when we were 21, so we are running in her memory. Lauren's son, Oliver is running with us too. Now, we never had spectacular PE reports from school (mine were far less glittering than Lauren's, but neither of us excelled) so this is a real challenge for us! People are facing uphill challenges everyday living with cancer so we will push ourselves to hopefullly make a difference to them. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
